Obviously the frase comes from my name Peter Max Friis Jensen but there is more to it than that. Friis is a protected name in Denmark, so you cannot just name your kid that. The reason is that it is an old German family name which even has a part of what is now The Netherlands named after it. The reason I could have the name as a middle name is that my great-grandmother had it as her last name.
Now to the more fun part of the story.
Why Max?
Back in the early 70'es when I was born my father was very fund of Scotland.
So naturally
he wanted to name his kid (me) something with Mc.
If he had had it his way I would have been named Peter McFriis Jensen.
Fortunately my mother did not like the name and the compromise was Peter Max Friis Jensen.
